These paintings are a depiction of memories, recaptured from photos I took when I was at the JVE. A tale of travels, visiting museums and galleries, looking at art, together with my friends. Stories, portraying particular persons, in familiar places, in a world/time gone by. The recreation of forms, gestures, light, reflection and atmosphere of introspection.
The universal story, the “outer” story, reflects on aspects of the phenomenon; exhibition, the exhibit, to exhibit, to see, to be seen. The relationship between the viewer and what is being viewed. When the viewer becomes a part of the view. The interaction between the space, the art, the artist and the viewer, inside and outside of the painting.
